Our office will be closed on Monday, December 26th and Monday January 2nd. We hope you have a happy New Year, and look forward to helping with all your new projects in 2012.

Project Spotlight: Auchentoroly Terrace

Auchentoroly Terrace Two HousesSGO was delighted to work with the residents in the 3100 block of Auchentoroly Terrace to create six new stained glass transoms for the entire row of houses. Located in a historic neighborhood directly across the street from Druid Hill Park, the Rawlings Conservatory and the Maryland Zoo, the houses on Auchentoroly Terrace were a prime location for beautiful 19th century styled stained glass.

Cathy Allen, herself a resident on the block, coordinated with the other home owners and the Greater Mondawmin Coordination Council to receive a grant from the Healthy Neighborhoods program.  Designed to revitalize neighborhoods and assist home owners in forging a vibrant community, the Healthy Neighborhoods program came through, helping to fund the project.

Discussing the concept with Cathy, the goal was clear – a single design that would give a unified, community atmosphere to the street. At the same time, the pattern should be historically appropriate, warm, friendly, and unique.

Auchentoroly Terrace Street ViewThe results speak for themselves, but that didn’t stop each of the homeowners from remarking what a difference even that modest change made to the facades.  Next time you visit the Conservatory, take a moment to walk across the street and see for yourself.

Timonium Studio Relocating After June 30th

After nine years, we are relocating our Timonium studio on June 30th. Our lease is up and we plan to open a smaller dedicated showroom in the area within the next year. Until the details are worked out, we will be bringing our showroom to our clients, and referring them to our website.

We will, of course continue creating original custom designs and handcrafting our signature stained glass in new separate fabrication facilities.

Our contact information will remain the same:
phone: 410-308-1888
email: glass@sgobaltimore.com

Showroom Closed Wed, April 20th

Our studio and showroom will be closed on Wednesday April 20th, 2011. We will open again Thursday morning at 10am, and return all calls and emails at that point. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Fells Point Fun Festival: Oct 2 & 3 – We’ll Be There!

Summer may have come to an end, but that just means it’s time again for the Fells Point Fun Festival. This is the last neighborhood festival we do every year, and it’s by far the biggest. Lasting the whole weekend, there’s always lots to see and do. Stop by our tent if you come out on Saturday or Sunday! We’re normally on Thames Street, in front of the Recreation Pier water taxi stop,  but that’s subject to change. No matter where we are, though, we’ll be there all weekend.  Take a break and join in the fun!
